Schizophrenia
BAND: Schizophrenia
ALBUM: Dagger
TRACKS: 08
LABEL: Self-released
Schizophrenia are a band from Santos (SP) formed in 1996 and released an album ("Never Surrender") and a single ("Ilumine-se"). "Dagger" is the last release of the band, bringing a strong and consistent sonority, showing some thing of the modern Metal, but prevailing Heavy Metal essence in the sonorous structure base. "Dagger" has an excellent final result: the recording quality is great and with the timbre of the instruments the band presents compositions with own identity and a lot of weight. "Dagger" is an album of intense weight, therefore the timbre is very dirty and heavy, making the instruments sound with the sonority of potent diesel engine. The sonorous structure is clean and very well defined, therefore the whole weight of the compositions is in a great level of variations. The melt of modern sonorities with dirty sonorities through a heavy sonorous structure maintains "Dagger" in a great level. Don't think that "Dagger" is one of those albums based in new influences, therefore "Dagger" is an album developed with own identity and the strong and heavy songs show a band that puts all the forces in the metallic weight. Although "Dagger" has a modern sonority, the weight and the timbres of the instruments converge the sonority of the album for a weight uncommon and totally primitive. "Dagger" is current, however it is heavy like Heavy Metal should be, sounding as a wild and rustic album... but always heavy! (Fernando)
